Building upon the successful location of the Bass Pro location, which is Number 5 top grossing in their chain, Livingston Parish continues to attract retailers and additional hospitality oriented locations. In Denham Springs Sam’s Club purchased some 17 acres next to Bass Pro and Albertson’s plans to open a new supermarket in a newly designated economic development zone. Plans for a major mixed-use development at Juban Crossing include major retailers, restaurants and additional housing to meet the growing demographics of the parish. In Walker there continues to be new retail and restaurant locations with more in the pipeline.

There are over 500 rooms presently available within the parish with the recent openings of two new hotels with another 300 rooms soon coming on line with two additional hotels being constructed. A number of new restaurants continue to be attracted to the parish. Recent additions include restaurants that range from Mediterranean, Japanese, Mexican, Italian and BBQ with more to come.

There have also been an influx in the number of financial institutions both locating and expanding in the parish. Several well known banks such as Chase and several regional banks and credit unions have realized the growth potential of Livingston Parish.

Louisiana offers an aggressive business incentive program that can be utilized by retail and hospitality companies.

The Enterprise Zone Program: Provides a $2,500 tax credit for each certified net new job created; and either a 4% sales/use tax rebate on capital expenditures or income and franchise tax credits up to 1.5% of investment.
