Louisiana’s Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP) is a partnership between Louisiana Department of Labor (LDOL), business and industry and a training provider, such as Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). The IWTP is designed to benefit business and industry by assisting in the skill development of existing employees and thereby increasing employee productivity and the growth of the company.

The Livingston Parish Literacy and Technology Center’s coursework prepares graduates to work in the parish’s businesses and will also customize job training. In addition, there are over 120 training courses offered by the Baton Rouge Community College in areas such as accounting/bookkeeping, food service, professional development, construction, human resources, and much more. For more information, go to the web site at www.mybrcc.edu/wcce/ct.php

The IWTP program is funded by a portion of Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax contributions dedicated solely for customized training. Current funding is $50 Million annually.
